3 family houses in Dobrá Voda near České Budějovice

Three friends, each with a different profession and personal life, approached us with the idea of building three family houses side by side.
They found a site for their project in the municipality of Dobrá Voda, in an area characterized by a mix of contemporary development and constructions from past decades. The triangular plot with one shorter side was divided into thirds, resulting in three parcels of different shapes. The only neighboring structure on the plot adjacent to the northern side of the designated area is a new building set back 3.5 meters from the property line. The eastern side of the area serves as the boundary for the cadastral region of Dobrá Voda and borders an undeveloped valley. The western side adjoins a road.
When we collectively realized that their housing requirements were nearly identical despite their various life journeys, we agreed to vary one common concept. The intention was to design well-lit and sunlit homes that take advantage of views of the surrounding landscape.
The mass of the house comprises a prism with a footprint of 6 x 14 meters, from which horizontal steel cantilevers extend over the parking space, entrance, and terrace. The individual houses differ in window and facade colors, and each has a different interior. Both horizontal and vertical structures are masonry, ceilings are made of exposed concrete, and the roof is made of titanium zinc. The ground floor features one bright living space that can be variably divided into two or three parts using sliding doors - an entrance hall, a living room with a kitchen, and possibly a study; upstairs there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The floor area of each house is approximately 130 m².
