Three reproduced images are taken from the ongoing construction of the first stage of the steam power plant of the Electric Utility Association of the Central Bohemian Districts. The overall construction will form a cohesive industrial complex of operational, administrative, and residential buildings and is to be realized in the next four years.
In the first stage, the constructed part of the boiler house (1150 m2) and the turbine hall (800 m2) has an iron structure. Outside this structure, there are both exterior walls made of lightweight insulating masonry and continuous glazed walls, both on independent iron reinforcement. For glazing large vertical surfaces, the seamless Wema system is used for the first time in our country.
The transformer station adjacent to the turbine hall with 16 kW has a separate reinforced concrete structure.
The original project resulted from a narrow competition held in 1929. The first stage will be put into operation in the summer of 1932.
