To fit the entire construction program requested by the client on the plot, the individual functions were vertically stacked, connected by ramps, and unified under a common roof. This vertical arrangement of the car showroom offers several advantages over conventional horizontal sales outlets: it ensures close proximity between the sales area and the workshop, customers have quick access to all spaces via ramps, and the vehicles on offer are presented to the public without reflective display windows, directly facing the street.
The building is located on a prominent access road from the west into Salzburg. The building is primarily perceived from the perspective of a passing car. The main idea in the design was to incorporate the dynamics and movement of cars into the building. Visitors can navigate inside the building as if on public roads: driving, parking, getting out, looking around, and fully enjoying the automotive world. All spaces are accessible directly from the car. The individual floors, the roof with large overhangs, and slanted pilasters define the shape of the sales area, which is centered around a foyer with a glass roof. The atrium is divided into two height levels (service and sales), which are connected by an escalator.
