Apartment for two in the city center

Apartment for two in the city center
Architect: Ivana Dombková
Completion:2015

Our long-time client purchased a small apartment in a First Republic building in the capital city. Specifically, it is a narrow, long section that had a rather depressing feel. The advantage is that in the narrower rear part there is a window overlooking a quiet courtyard, while the wider part of the apartment has a beautiful window onto a calm street in the city center.
The assignment was: to create a balanced space with a fully equipped living area (kitchen, dining, sofa, workspace); the brightest possible bathroom in the dark center of the whole tract (bathtub, sink), a separate toilet, a bedroom with a window to the courtyard, a utility room with a washing machine and dryer; to renovate the windows and doors that were preserved, to incorporate an old chandelier owned by the client, and above all to find a place for the backlit onyx that the client very much desired in the interior.
The apartment is now used as an intimate hotel suite during their stays in Prague.
