The space was created by combining an apartment of 90 m² with a large terrace and an apartment of half the size. The result was an apartment in a unique location with a view of Charles Bridge and Prague Castle.
By merging the apartments, the original intention of architect Ivana Dombková was fulfilled, which was to separate the private zone of the apartment. The lower floor, which is accessed by stairs, features a bedroom with a large bathroom, while the upper floor offers a generous living area with a comfortable wardrobe, a daytime toilet, and access to the terrace.
The upper floor provides exceptional opportunities for social life, which the owners lead. They currently live here without children, so the arrangement of the space as one open social room upstairs and one bedroom downstairs suits them well.
Given their passion for cooking and frequent visits from guests, the owners placed great emphasis on a comfortable and well-equipped kitchen. An unusual feature is the six-meter-long countertop located under the windows, which offer a fantastic view of Prague Castle.
In the entire project, emphasis was primarily placed on simple design, clean and uncomplicated lines, logical continuity, and unobtrusive incorporation of storage spaces. In the future, the owners plan to expand the terrace with an outdoor kitchen and grill, and if they purchase the adjacent studio, they intend to add a guest bedroom to the apartment, which could eventually be transformed into a children's room.
