Center for Leisure Time Nová Brumlovka

Center for Leisure Time Nová Brumlovka
Address: Vyskočilova, Michle, Prague, Czech Republic
Investor:CVČ Nová Brumlovka a.s., developer Passerinvest Group
Project:2002
Completion:2007

The new Brumlovka was designed in the middle of the administrative buildings of BB Center, on the site of the original sports hall from the 1970s, which was mainly used for non-sporting activities. In the new wellness center building, there are two floors dedicated to sports with 3 multipurpose halls for various exercises and courses, a fitness area, a 25-meter swimming pool with saunas and massages. The gently sloped roof conceals a sunken terrace from the views of the higher administrative buildings, connecting to the aqua zone one floor below. On the ground floor of the building beneath the sports center, two restaurants, a post office, small sports shops, and a bar are accessible from the commercial passage.
The concept of the building was shaped to ensure that the geometric shape balanced the smaller volume it has compared to the surrounding administrative buildings and did not appear to be in a smaller scale against them; the distinctly different architectural form is underpinned by a completely different function. The facade, in addition to the predominantly north-facing glazed areas towards Vyskočilova Street, is made of trapezoidal perforated sheet metal. This has a fractured color that varies in response to different daylight.
On the second floor of Brumlovka, a new footbridge also ends over Vyskočilova Street. The building is thus easily accessible from the northern part of the BB Center complex on the other side of Vyskočilova Street, and the internal escalator in the passage serves this purpose as well.

Capacities: restaurant 725 m², retail space 790 m², wellness center 3650 m², of which pool and thermal area 950 m², 189 parking spaces in the basement.
