The land is located in a valley surrounded by greenery on the side of a dirt road. A stream flows through the plot.
Originally, there was a single-story cottage on the land. Due to zoning restrictions, it was not possible to expand the footprint. The owner lives in Prague in a new house with a flat roof, and the brief was to create a "romantic" cottage in a picturesque valley.
The house is built on the footprint of the old cottage, which could no longer be preserved due to its technical condition and construction program. On an area of 6 x 9 meters, a two-story wooden building with a gable roof has risen. Wood is used for both the interior and exterior cladding to truthfully reflect the house's structure. The roof is made of copper. The basement structure and the retaining wall behind the house are made of stone. Wooden terraces adjoin the house.
On the ground floor, we find an entrance hall, restroom, a living kitchen with a classic brick stove with a lounge, and a room with a fireplace. Upstairs, there are three rooms and a bathroom. The living area is expanded year-round by two terraces - one covered for social moments with seating and another for private relaxation in a hot tub or on a sun lounger.
