House with studio

The house from the interwar period stands on a corner plot at the edge of a park in the Žilina-Závodie district. The plot is enclosed by the continuous volume of the house with the outbuilding, and the corner position is successfully accentuated by the mass of the tower. The more than 80-year-old house in its original condition contains thoughtful craftsmanship, quality materials, and a solid layout with airy spaces. The aim of the design is to develop the potential of the original architectural solution and enhance its spatial quality. The house will be adapted for a more efficient use for the needs of an IT company's headquarters, but without significant interventions into the house as a whole. The outbuilding will be transformed into the owner's studio, serving for work and the presentation of predominantly digital content to potential clients. The building will be a conceptual new creation, in volume and material derived from the typology of a barn. The project primarily aims to preserve the architectural values of the object, their restoration, cultivation, and sensitive adaptation to the requirements of the new function.
