Dostavba drážního domku

The railway cottage likely dates from the second half of the 19th century and stands in isolation near the railway line Protivín – Písek, one kilometer from the therapeutic community SANANIM at the farm near Karásek. The building is intended for clients in the final phase of treatment, who have successfully completed a demanding several-month therapy and can live independently here part of the year and go to work.
The railway cottage (wechterovna) has been preserved as a dominant and shared living space using original materials and colors. The extension of the residential part has connected it with the reconstructed economic building. A new homestead in the shape of a horseshoe has been created, with a semicircular protected courtyard, unified by a larch facade. The same structural elements and materials have been deliberately utilized in the interior as in the therapeutic community building. The continuity of architecture complements the continuity of treatment.
The building is single-story. It can accommodate 6 people, and the economic part is also used by the community. The rooms are connected by a corridor that runs around the courtyard and is interrupted by a terrace with views into the courtyard and the orchard. Clients have access to a shared kitchen and dining room in the railway cottage; the original partitions and attic have been removed, creating an open space to the roof structure. The residential part of the house includes three double rooms with hygiene and technical facilities.
