Exposition of the Ethnographic and Textile Museum Aš

On May 3, 2014, a permanent exhibition of the Ethnographic and Textile Museum of Aš was opened in new premises. For the placement of the exhibition dedicated to the history and ethnography of the Aš region, the first floor of the listed building of the former fire station in Poštovní Square was reconstructed. During the restoration of the interior, the original colors of the rooms were restored based on findings from the conducted architectural-historical survey. Preserved elements of the furniture were restored where possible and included in the exhibition. New elements of the exhibition are incorporated into the interior in contrasting material and shape design. The showcases, counters, cloakroom block, and pedestals for exhibits are made of steel sheet with an anthracite patinated finish.
