I designed the space in the ground floor of the rental villa as an apartment for one or two people. The investor wished to create a space for comfortable living, modernize the apartment's equipment, preserve valuable original elements, emphasize respecting the atmosphere of the house, and the quality of the materials for the floors, windows, doors, and all built-in parts of the interior.

In addressing the apartment, I based my work on the original structural and spatial layout of the flat. The original layout was preserved, with the overall disposition opening up, connecting, and brightening. The apartment managed to become sunny, even though it is located on the ground floor of a rental villa surrounded by mature trees. Although the apartment was inhabited before the renovation, it was in very poor condition both structurally and technically; some building elements needed to be completely removed and replaced with new ones, and the installations had to be redone along with the heating. Together with the investor, we focused on finding skilled craftsmen with a sense for material and detail. Precisely made box windows, oak parquet, subtly gray tiles, rusting steel... materials in their natural colors, a few color accents... thanks to these elements, there is quite a pleasant atmosphere in the apartment. Right after finishing the interior, the investor and I viewed the paintings of artist Nátalie Perkof Knotková, who agreed to loan several large canvases... the painting in the photographs has remained in the apartment.
