To strengthen the robust image of this fire station along Ring road of Maastricht, the facades are made from green-pigmented concrete panels with a relief pattern of car tires imprints. The large garage dominates the front facade as a stage set of fire trucks, while at the rear one finds the training ground and the supply areas. The top floor is an attractive living quarter organized around a large reflective water pond and roof terrace. The pond stores rainwater to fill up the trucks and generate a quiet and relaxing atmosphere to compensate the hectic life of the fire fighters.
