The interpretation of the terms classic and conservative develops the several-year collaboration between the developer Karlin Real Estate and the studio Mimolimit of Bára Škorpilová and Jan Nedvěd. The show apartment was created in the residential area River Diamond on the Prague waterfront with two hundred apartments near the river, a short distance from the historic city center. After the first show apartment by the Mimolimit studio, which opened in River Diamond in the autumn of 2005, another show apartment was created a few months ago. The investor's brief was to create a timeless to classic interior. A calm and friendly apartment that would show what potential the entire complex has. To demonstrate to clients who wish to buy an apartment here how living can be conceived in River Diamond. The interior of the more than one hundred square meter apartment, with views into both the street and the inner atrium of the complex, was designed by the author in the spirit of a slightly conservative, yet very surprising "neo-retro" style upon closer inspection. The entire interior is not furnished with old furniture nor does it present itself as 'old'. It is an interpretation of what the architect envisions under the labels classic, conservative, and timeless.
In the chosen combinations of colors and shades, she wanted to demonstrate that the use of dark colors does not necessarily mean an optical reduction of space. Soft pastel tones contrast with a number of mirrored surfaces used by Bára Škorpilová in the interiors of the apartment. They are meant to optically expand the space, serving as a counterpoint to the subtle colors chosen for the wallpaper, decorative fabrics on the windows, and upholstery of the seating furniture. In this case, the mirrors aim to multiply the space, being an optical counterpoint to the apartment's furnishings. With the overall muted expression of the apartment's interiors, the carpets from Barcelona designer Nani Marquina, produced under the brand Nanimarquina, contrast sharply. Their bright orange and red colors stand out on the teak floors. The entrance area directly connects to the kitchen and living space and leads out to the terrace. Shelving walls are complemented by small, carefully selected pieces like the cubist clock by Josef Gočár, and photographs by Ivan Pinkava adorn the walls. In the children's room, besides a painting by the artist Petr Nikl, there is a striking bed and carpet, both in orange. The monolithic kitchen unit is made of polished black granite.
