The cultural center serves various types of use: a small variable hall, a theater restaurant with a bar, an information center, a rehearsal room with a recording studio, a large hall, club rooms, classrooms, and offices for KC Turnov and a caretaker's apartment on the top floor.
The building creates a new urban space - it opens its ground floor to activities with all-day use - an information center at the corner and a restaurant with a garden terrace in the arcade. The corner is created by stepping back the front in the floor plan so that the vertical dominant of the square is the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The western facade reacts to the small scale of the development of Markova Street.
The triangle of three buildings - the church, funeral hall, and the cultural center - is visibly interconnected (by the rhythm of columns and supporting pillars, materials) and subtly (…).
The chosen material derives from the materials of the church, the retaining walls on Markova Street, and in a broader context, the entire region. Sandstone as a material of the Bohemian Paradise - the building is a block of stone, which shapes the church tower by removing mass into individual planes - facets, thus reminding of Turnov's tradition of stone processing - Czech garnet.
After dark, with the start of cultural events, shadows reveal the hidden - the ribbed vault.
The building has two public entrances - the main one, with a covered foyer, from the square area, and the second, barrier-free entrance to the hall and KC, from Markova Street. In the eastern part of the square, there is a delivery entrance and an entrance for actors.
On the ground floor of the building, there is an info center and a restaurant, a lobby with a cloakroom, a bar, and especially a small hall - a variable space with entrances on two height levels, which can be rearranged using "practical panels" and has the necessary facilities for dressing rooms and storage. Additionally, on the ground floor level, there are service operations of the cultural house: the restaurant's back office, garage, and handling space, storage, and technical facilities.
A three-arm staircase, with an original textile wallpaper, a pair of chandeliers, and an upper skylight, connects the lobby on the 1st floor with the foyer in front of the large hall on the upper floor. From the foyer, there is access to the bar with an outdoor atrium, an outdoor balcony above the main entrance, and continuing from the central staircase, the hall's balconies and the lighting and sound booth. On both sides of the staircase - two entrances to the main hall, with a utility space in between containing dining lifts to the restaurant kitchen. The simple space of the hall - decorated on the right wall with historical wooden targets, long-term loaned from the Turnov Museum. On the left wall, there are cutouts through which you can always see only at one point, in the axis of the entrance, the cross on the top of the church tower. The stage is accessible from the storage back office and the actors' dressing rooms located in the mezzanine, under the stage of the large hall. The barrier-free entrance leads to a part of the club rooms with a training room.
The third above-ground floor is accessible by vertical communications and houses the offices of the Turnov Cultural Center and the caretaker's apartment.
The roof, designed as a green one, was not realized due to financial reasons.
