Forest Cabin
In April 2020, the noble couple comes with the idea of leaving their apartment in Prague and the desire for a modest house in the countryside. The local regulations determined the maximum building height and the maximum building height, which limited the assignment.
For the volume of the cottage itself, an archetypal form was chosen, fitting into the context of the surrounding buildings and also emphasising the tension between security on earth and freedom in the sky with its verticality.
Beautiful mature conifers on the site and in the surrounding area captivated us. The façade is reminiscent of the cones of these trees in its pattern.
Connecting the living area of the interior to the surroundings with large glass sliding surfaces increases the belonging to nature and also magically increases the feeling of space in the interior.
