A new concept of offices has emerged in the orbit of technology companies. Architects from Studio Reaktor have designed and constructed a futuristic mechanism, a space that accelerates ideas, facilitates work, and connects people like gears. It is a perfectly tuned machine controlled by pilots, members of the Livesport crew.
The principle of a data technology company that accumulates information from around the world is reflected in the internal philosophy of the offices. The entire space of the 6th floor is shape-defined by the centripetal force of the building. The atrium is the focal point of the structure, drawing energy inward, serving as a magnet, a landmark, and a meeting place for corporate events. All lighting fixtures, ceiling slats, acoustic panels, the walls of the so-called transformers, and floor lines lead towards the imaginary core, the heart of the company.
You can walk around the offices without opening a single door. The overall floor plan resembles a clock face, with a dynamically designed interior. The floor is divided into three functional rings, creating variability and diversity in the office landscape. Along the outer facade with ample daylight, there is a flexible work zone. As we pass through, we encounter closed offices, open spaces, and corner shared workstations. Closest to the central atrium is a circuit filled with greenery, featuring a leisure and informal environment designed for meeting people and relaxation. The third ring consists of ten metal transformers, components of the clockwork machine.
When you enter the accelerator, the main communication backbone, sensors detecting movement start the light circuit. The domino effect of the ramping lighting resembles the acceleration of powerful sports cars. The circular track is designed for the movement of pilots on hoovers, monocycles, and scooters. Agility, precision, and movement are themes that flow through the building's ether. The design reflects a corporate culture based on speed and interaction among people.
Ten flexible transformers, changeable metal components of the clockwork machine, house all installation cores, server rooms, smaller meeting rooms, and kitchenettes. Using built-in rotating wings, they divide the open space into smaller closed offices, helping to create an agile environment. The opening layer along the workstations offers a palette of storage spaces, changing rooms, phone booths, and recessed seating pixels. Perforated metal allows for glimpses into meeting rooms while still providing enough privacy for discussions.
Each pilot has their precisely equipped cockpit for well-managed activities. Adjustable arms for monitors, height-adjustable desks, and surgical lights are basic equipment for the position. Automated Cosm chairs perfectly adapt to the pilot's body without the need for adjustments. Built-in televisions in metal walls complement the set of tools necessary for team performance synchronization.
At the kitchenettes with café seating, community-focused spaces for social gatherings are created. Green walls separate individual resting areas for sitting and enjoying coffee. These hydroponics provide several functions for the crew. In the tea kitchen, we find edible plants like the raucous plant, mint, and lemon balm. Some flowers have been assigned decorative functions, while others purify the air and fragrance the interior. The concept of "well-being" is reflected in the high-quality acoustics and ergonomics of the space, allowing for adaptation to employee needs.
Working with materials and searching for adequate surfaces led the team of authors to an experimental solution of raw copper and brass conference tables. These sheets were soaked in acid, scorched, and brushed. Custom patinated boards were created for daily briefings and honest feedback.
The resulting model of a new generation of flexible offices 2.0 for Livesport aspires to position itself as an inspiring leader seeking new directions. The strong connection of identity and the DNA of the company with the workspace environment is a response to a time full of questions. The story of the new interior is an exploratory probe launched into the future of the post-COVID era.The English translation is powered by AI tool. Switch to Czech to view the original text source.
