City and Regional Police Headquarters

The administrative cultural center in Jyväskylä consists of three different structures built in phases. In the first phase, the building of the city and regional police headquarters was constructed. The main entrance to this building is located on Hannikainen street on the southeast side, and the entrance to the inner courtyard is nestled between the station and the theater. The inner parking courtyard is protected by a concrete, sculpturally shaped wall that delineates a public park.
In later phases, a cultural center and a new extension to the old town hall were realized. These two buildings create a square that is connected to the park by a terraced staircase. The staircase can be used for various public productions, such as performances.
