OKO in the landscape, Janovice

OKO in the landscape, Janovice
Collaboration:Martin Rosa, Jakub Popela, Martin Vymetálek
Project:2015–2016
Completion:2017–2019

In the foothills of the Beskids, near Lysá Hora, lies the village of Janovice. A beautiful place in nature, on the edge of the village, where the Koťátko couple resides. They approached us for a proposal for a simple, supplementary structure in their garden, which would serve as a guest room and a meditation space for clients.

We designed a small wooden structure made of beam construction, levitating above the terrain. The foundation of the building is done using steel screws, thus avoiding the extraction of soil and the occupation of arable land. The wooden facade is made of larch boards that transition into the roof plane. An important element of the building is large glazing with a view of the landscape.

We appreciate the approach of the investors, who entrusted us from the very beginning. The owner referred to the entire work as "AN EYE IN THE LANDSCAPE".
