The Legend of Pérák is RevivedIt is the year 1944, and in the dark alleys of Prague, whispers circulate about a mysterious figure known only as Pérák. This enigmatic man wears special shoes equipped with strong springs. With sophisticated equipment, he can move swiftly through the city, easily causing trouble for the enemy. Soon, he becomes a significant symbol of the Czech resistance.
However, after the end of World War II, his trace disappears, but rumors spread of a peculiar, purely Czech hero, who, due to his deeds and equipment, bears the traits of a superhero. One of the last tales states that Pérák, after overcoming three barricades in Vršovice with a powerful jump, set off from the bombed-out Prague to western Bohemia, according to eyewitnesses, with the words:
“I will chase the Nazi all the way to Selb!” Whether he reached his destination remained unknown for a long time. However, there are indications that have left all historians astonished… and led to Sokolov. On the site of the former Sokolov bookstore from 1978, construction modifications were made in 2022 to build a restaurant. Upon uncovering the floor, an almost intact shoe with a strong spring was found. Today, it is undeniable that it belonged to the legendary Pérák. Detailed examination confirmed not only his existence but also revealed that the spring on the shoe was made from the famous Kladno ingot by Norwegian dwarfs. The shoelaces were provided by Jan Tleskač.
You are currently sitting in the place where the last appearance of the first Czech Superman is documented, at least in the spot where he lost his left shoe. With Pérák.
