Robot Restaurant Cyberdog

Robot Restaurant Cyberdog
The Cyberdog Technology and Information Center, aimed at the general public, which simultaneously features a wine bar with a robotic arm, opened in Prague near the Nové Butovice metro station on Thursday, November 29, 2018. The authors of the design of the two-story futuristic building are the heads of the Black N' Arch studio, David Černý and Tomáš Císař. The studio is part of the Trigema company, the investor of the entire project, which built and operates Cyberdog.

"Collaboration with David Černý, Tomáš Císař, and their team has been functioning within our company for more than a year now. Cyberdog is the first real result of our joint intentions. We want to bring new and unconventional elements into the architecture of contemporary Prague that will make it distinctive and add further quality," explains Marcel Soural, chairman of the board of Trigema.
The two-story Cyberdog resembles the head and body of a dog in shape and a spacecraft from the future in material. The lower part of the building is longer. It is connected to the upper part by an internal spiral staircase. The external façade consists of stainless steel sheets mounted on a steel frame. The entire front part of the second floor is glazed.
"Cyberdog is based on the idea of technological progress of the 21st century. Initially, we were inspired by robots that mix drinks on cruise ships, but also robots that mix drinks in Las Vegas," says David Černý, one of the co-authors of the project and also a head of the Black N' Arch studio.
Inside, Cyberdog features a public space for the wine bar, including a robotic workstation and a conveyor belt system. The robotic arm is on the ground floor. There is also a bar and tables for visitors. Through an app on their smartphones or rented tablets, visitors can order wine, other drinks, and even hot meals. The wine brand Dog in Dock from the Winery in Veselí nad Moravou is then poured directly by a Kuka Robotics robot based on orders. The conveyor belt delivers ordered wine and additional refreshments to individual tables located on both floors of the building. Payments are made electronically through payment gateways. In addition, it is, of course, possible to pay in cash at the wine bar's service.
The wines Dog in Dock, which can be ordered at Cyberdog, include Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Frankovka, and Zweigeltrebe rosé. The interior of Cyberdog is equipped with leading world brands thanks to Koncepti, the company of Lucie and David Řezníček. The Masters chairs were designed by creative genius Philippe Starck. With this, he paid homage to three world icons of contemporary design - Arne Jacobsen, Eero Saarinen, and Charles Eames. This bestseller among chairs has also received several design awards, such as the Good Design Award (2010) or the Red Dot Award (2013).
The main information area of the Cyberdog center features a glazed façade on the second floor, equipped with a special film, allowing the projection to be viewed from both outdoor and indoor spaces. The large glazed area regularly publishes news and further information from the field of science and technology.
The total capacity of the wine bar is more than 40 seats. Cyberdog will be open to the public every day from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The period from the processing of the original vision to the actual realization of the Cyberdog center took about a year and a half. The construction, managed by Trigema Building, began in May of this year. The total project costs exceeded 20 million crowns.

Cyberdog is located on a new pedestrian boulevard leading from the Nové Butovice metro station of Prague's B line. Right next to the new building is David Černý's sculpture Trifot. The 12-meter-high walking sculpture made of stainless steel, which consists of a collection of cameras, represents the evolution of the field of photography over the last few decades. The entire area also includes the Czech Photo Centre - a multi-genre art space, which is one of the most significant galleries focused on contemporary photography in the capital.
The Czech Photo Centre gallery is part of the development project by Trigema SMART, which received an award last year in the Building of the Year competition.
