The house is situated in the outskirts of Dúbravka in Bratislava on the border with a forest. Its placement in the central part of the plot directly responds to the entrance from the access road, which it encloses. The placement in the descending terrain responds to the views of the rooftops of the Old Dúbravka houses, culminating in the ridge of the Small Carpathians.
The aim of the design was a house that reflects the surrounding natural characteristics through its mass-compositional and visual solutions and seamlessly blends into its environment. It is characterized by the acknowledgment of its materiality, with concrete and wooden surfaces flowing smoothly from the interior to the exterior, creating a clear mass composition of the object. They create a continuity that is preserved even in the views within the house in different directions, collectively anchoring the context of the house and its surroundings.
Mass-wise, the object is designed as a reinforced concrete foundation basin transversely positioned in the terrain, in which a prefabricated object made of CLT panels is placed. The asymmetrical placement of the object within the basin separates the areas of the terrace and carport with a storage room. These areas are longitudinally connected by a walkway with a roof that frames the entire object.
The interior layout is divided into day and night parts. The entrance is made through the underground level from the carport area. In the entrance area, there are entries to hygiene facilities, a study, and a technical room. From the entrance area, the day part opens directly, fully exposed to the eastern side, and also communicates through the dining area with the atrium and terrace. The dining area is vertically open to a gallery. Through the gallery and atrium, southern and western light enters into the otherwise east-facing day area, creating various atmospheres throughout the day. On the upper floor, there are children's rooms oriented to the east and south with a shared hygiene area, and a master bedroom space with a separate wardrobe, toilet, and bathroom, which looks into the forest through a panoramic window.
