The client's requirement was to create a new home that would combine private spaces with working areas into one harmonious whole. The client wanted to feel and perceive nature – Podbrdy – with its forests and water bodies. Therefore, an important element of the design was the use of natural elements and greenery both in the exterior and interior.
The building takes advantage of the gently sloping terrain. This is reflected in both the massing of the building and in the arrangement of different floor levels in the interior. The interior is maximally open and connected to the garden, whose centerpiece is a swimming pond surrounded by lush vegetation. The landscaped area of the garden near the pond gradually transitions into a forest park beyond the property line.
The centerpiece of the interior is a generous entrance foyer – a space open across two floors up to the roof. In this area, an interior forest will be created. The main living space is connected to the foyer by a glazed wall – thus you are constantly surrounded by nature even in the interior.
