The design of the house in Kunice primarily stemmed from the client's request for a passive house project. This had a fundamental impact on the mass compactness of the structure, the layout solutions, and the subsequent one-sided orientation of the main living rooms to the south. The northern side of the house and its layout then function as the house's background and service zone. One of the client's requirements was an overall inconspicuous character of the building and either a gable or a mono-pitched roof. In an effort to maximize space utilization and minimize heated areas, the principle of the gable roof was inverted, allowing the lowest central space under the roof to be used for a corridor and the higher parts for bedrooms. The rooms on the façade are therefore spatially generous, fully usable, with an unobstructed view. The building is designed as a masonry wall system made of aerated silicate blocks. Given the building's south orientation, it was necessary to resolve the shading system. This became the main element on an otherwise smooth plastered façade. Wooden exterior blinds are integrated into a protruding structure clad with the same wood. When the blinds are pulled down, the façade closes into three compact "boxes".
