Family house in Zlín

At home. Hidden from everyone. Concealed in a mysterious garden behind a peeling wall with a rusty gate. In a house fused with the garden. Creating one whole with the land and trees. Cuddled up in a blanket by the fire. With a pipe, I scent the poetic evening. With taste and slowly. Hidden from the world in the safety of my room.

The family house is situated in the wider center of the city of Zlín, in a place with traces of the original historical development of "village" family houses. The character of the place is reflected in the architectural concept of the house. The sloping roof facing the street references the surrounding buildings, while the courtyard wing is two-story. The garden is enclosed and intimate. The northern orientation of the garden creates a problem with the sun exposure of the living spaces. Therefore, an atrium is designed facing the street, bringing southern sunlight into the house. The social part of the house is on the ground floor, and the living space is fully open through a covered terrace into the garden. The bedrooms are on the upper floor.
