Company headquarters Fisersa

Fisersa is a municipal organization responsible for the operation of infrastructure and maintenance of the city of Figueres: bus transportation, traffic lights, road signs, parking meters, public sewage, street lighting, municipal water supply, plus cleaning and maintenance of the city.
The main headquarters of Fisersa is located in an industrial area on the main road between the cities of Figueres and Roses. Along with other industrial buildings and warehouses, it stands opposite a large shopping center.
The program divided the building into five different zones: the first, the most representative zone with a huge entrance hall, conference room, exhibition space, and customer service area.
On the upper floor are the company's management, administration, meeting rooms, archives, services, ...
The third area is the staff facilities, changing rooms, workshops, and storerooms with access for transport. Finally, the main zone is designated for company cars, bus parking, their cleaning, and maintenance.
The diversity of the program encouraged us to design a building with a unifying form. All parts are bonded into a single volume that occupies the entire plot and takes on an image characteristic of a public building, while structurally and on a low budget, it was built as an industrial building.
The massiveness and opacity of the volume contrast with the pleasantness and abundance of natural daylight in the interior space. A long ambiguous opening in the facade towards the courtyard is intended for the entry of company vehicles and embodies the essence of a building serving the city as the client explicitly desired.
