Vitality, raw materials, pure nature, and above all – meat. The best steaks in Olomouc. Just ten years ago, car engines roared here, mechanics checked clutches, brakes, and handed out stamps for completed "STK" checks. And when they left for home hungry after a long day’s work, they likely dreamed of such food. A juicy steak enjoyed at a massive wooden table with raw steel legs. Animal power and nature. This is the theme behind the interior of STK Restaurant, which opened in the former auto repair shop. In both food and space, it places the greatest emphasis on directness and quality.

We approached the automotive heritage, which might seem like a burden and something to deny and erase, in quite the opposite way. The 320-square-meter space does not reject it but authentically embraces it in its own way. This is evident at first glance in the materials used – we utilized sheets of raw metal, black steel, and reinforcing bars. We also turned the seemingly problematic layout to our advantage – narrow spaces with supporting walls that could not be demolished. One of these has been transformed into a vertical garden, and we incorporated a grill counter into the other.

There are also two enormous steel bulls standing here. A wish of the owner and a dominant feature of the space, a clear indication of what kind of cuisine guests can expect here. However, the seemingly heavy elements in STK, as the steakhouse has come to be known due to the location's history, intertwine in symbiosis with nature. The bulls have willow branch weavings above them, climbing across the tables and walls. The tables are made of roughly finished massive oak slabs standing on seemingly broken, irregularly shaped steel legs. Greenery has pierced through the ceilings and walls in several places, changing the interior's expression with each new leaf. We also used cowhide and rope weavings.
