Another branch of the vegetarian restaurant chain Dhaba Beas was opened in November 2023 in a modern administrative building
Dock in Five in Prague at the intersection of Karlín and Libeň.
The building is mainly constructed of concrete and features glass facades. It retains its raw texture in the ceiling and columns, giving an overall industrial feel.
The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the building and has large windows that allow plenty of natural light to enter, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. As with previous branches, the architect worked with an original concept that includes a self-service counter. The aim was to preserve and emphasize the industrial character of the interiors while balancing it with soft materials and rounded shapes.
In addition to concrete finishes and bold paintings, ceramic tiles were used on the walls, where the architect primarily worked with small formats and mosaics. She created a visually striking pattern that adds depth and interest to the space. The intentional design evokes a feeling of controlled and organized geometric chaos.
A significant addition to the restaurant's atmosphere is the composition of spherical light fixtures made of opal glass. These lamps, placed in the center of the layout, contrast with the exposed technological equipment and soften its boldness.
Furthermore, to soften the industrial expression, translucent curtains and wooden furniture are incorporated into the space, introducing an element of warmth and comfort. The rounded corners of the openings enhance the overall harmony. All of this creates a relaxed environment for guests.
The combination of industrial elements with softer features, rounded corners, and the incorporation of opal glass fixtures contributes to a balanced and visually appealing atmosphere.
