Vltava Philharmonic - competition proposal
Collaboration:Anders Christian Gade, Jan-Inge Gustafsson, Kayin Dawoodi, Peter Jackson, Jan Berglund
Address: Bubenské nábřeží, Holešovice, Prague, Czech Republic
Contest:2021-22
Five beating hearts of the philharmonic pulse into their surroundings, welcoming all passersby and sending them on their way through the city in good spirits. Life in the park is supported by extroverted activities in the plinth. The design concept is inspired by the undulations of music and the shapes of acoustic walls – "reflectors" that enhance the music. The philharmonic is conceived as the "perfect instrument" of architecture and landscape, absorbing the essence of music and transmitting it to visitors on all levels. The surrounding neighborhoods are naturally connected to the addressed area, where paths continue towards the banks of the Vltava river through the building and the park.
