Biography
Bernhard Hermkes was a German architect and urban planner. From 1921 to 1926, he studied at technical universities in Munich, Berlin, and Stuttgart. From 1926 to 1927, he worked for Ernst May at the municipal building office in Frankfurt am Main. In 1927, he established his own architectural studio in Frankfurt. From 1936 to 1945, he collaborated with Wilhelm Wichtendahl in Regensburg. From 1946 to 1947, he served on the working committee for urban planning in Hamburg. From 1955 to 1971, he was a full professor at the Technical University of Berlin.
