We invite you to the premiere of the third episode of the cycle Architecture of Coexistence. This time we will present the inspiring project VinziRast-mittendrin. In this house in the wider center of Vienna, students, (former) homeless individuals, and refugees live together. In addition to housing, there is a restaurant, workshops, study rooms, and a rooftop studio with a terrace. Come experience the atmosphere in the house and get to know its story more closely. The Architecture of Coexistence presents various solutions to social issues. The initial motivation for the creation of the documentary series is the effort to demystify terms such as social housing, problem areas, exclusion, and disadvantage. The cycle focuses on Central European examples of so-called good practices, where local communities attempt to create, mostly by their own efforts, functional social and material bases for a dignified life. A key aspect of the selected locations is the significant role of architects and artists, who act as one of the main drivers of change in the projects. The aim is to provide a new perspective on social sustainability in the city. The documentary cycle Architecture of Coexistence is created in collaboration with the associations Artyčok.TV and Architects Without Borders. The project is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Czech-German Future Fund, and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The cycle Architecture of Coexistence received the Czech-German Journalism Award 2021 in the category of Special Prize of Milena Jesenská.
