Kampa is often associated in our minds with little octopuses swimming in Čertovka or the end of ponds in Bohemia. For centuries, it has been the site of renowned pottery markets and is one of the main attractions for tourists. Above all, it is a green island that today offers a space for relaxation and rest in the very core of old Prague. It reflects the diversity of life; here we find not only burgers’ houses, but also embassy residences, the only water palace in Prague, artists' villas, mills, but also homes of those who had little money and whose names great history mostly elevatedly ignored.

Fortunately, the plans that aimed to destroy Kampa in the 20th century were ignored, allowing it to remain in its simple beauty, which still needs to be defended. Let us not overlook the efforts of those who still wish to destroy and defend life and its beauties; it is worth it. The walk will begin at Herget’s Brickworks, we will pass through the whole Kampa to Jechental’s apartment buildings by the Legií bridge, stopping at significant places and objects, and we will recall the fates not only of the houses but also their inhabitants.

Participation in the event is conditioned on purchasing a ticket. More information can be found on the organizer's website.
