Biography
Hans Döllgast was a German architect, graphic designer, and university lecturer. From 1910 to 1914, he studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich. Between 1919 and 1922, he worked in the studio of Richard Riemerschmid and from 1922 to 1926 in the master studio of Peter Behrens in Vienna, Berlin, and Frankfurt n/M. From 1927 to 1929, he worked as an independent architect in Munich, Vienna, and Augsburg. In 1929, he had the opportunity to teach interior design at the Technical University of Munich, where he became an associate professor in 1939 and a full professor in 1943. In 1957, when his university position was taken over by Johannes Ludwig, Döllgast received the Federal Cross of Merit, and a year later, he became a member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts.
