Biography
Isabel Martinez Abascal studied architecture at ETSAM in Madrid, the Technical University of Berlin, and the Vastu Shilpa Foundation in Ahmedabad under Balkrishna Doshi. She worked in the studios of SANAA (Tokyo), Aranguren + Gallegos (Madrid), Anupama Kundoo (Berlin), and Pedro Mendes da Rocha (São Paulo). She was the director of the Latin American architecture platform LIGA (2015-17). She served as a professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Escola da Cidade in São Paulo (2009-14), at the private Mexican university Anáhuac (2019-20), and as a visiting professor at Kent State University in Ohio (2021).
