Biography
Johannes Krahn was a German architect and university teacher. From 1923 to 1929, he studied architecture at the technical school in Offenbach, at the arts and crafts school in Aachen, and at the technical school in Cologne, where he attended the master class of Dominikus Böhm. From 1928 to 1940, he worked as an associate of Rudolf Schwarz in Offenbach. He graduated in civil engineering under Prof. Hans Karlinger at the RWTH Polytechnic in Aachen. From 1940 to 1945, he held a leading position in the Berlin office of Herbert Rimpl. He taught at the arts and crafts school in Aachen, which was then directed by Rudolf Schwarz. From 1954, he was a full professor of architecture at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. He died during a vacation in Orselina, southern Switzerland.
