Biography
He studied at a state real gymnasium and then art education at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University. Due to his religious beliefs, he was banned from youth education, and therefore he decided on a freelance profession as an artist - he mainly focused on the refurbishment of interiors of sacred buildings, later also on their design.
During the totalitarian regime, he designed the Church of St. Joseph in Senetářov (1969-71), where he not only created the Stations of the Cross but also the decoration: stained glass, paintings, reliefs.
He could only exhibit abroad, where he became a member of MAE - European Association of Visual Artists, regularly participating in group exhibitions and receiving numerous awards.
In Hustopeče near Brno, he designed a new church (1991-94) on the site of a demolished church, including stained glass. In the years 1992-95, a new Church of St. Wenceslas was built in Břeclav according to his design, and he designed and completely decorated the Chapel of St. Ludmila in Horní Libochová, etc. Among the church interior refurbishments, we can at least mention Hroznová Lhota, Zbýšov in Bohemia, Střížov...
