Biography
Maria João Fradinho Ribeiro studied architecture at FAAUL in Porto. During that time, she focused on understanding and practicing the relationship between buildings and their surroundings. She participated in the Erasmus program at ETSA in Valencia, Spain, where in 2008 she completed her master's degree with the thesis "The Relationship Between the City and the Environment. The Process of Humanizing the City of Valencia" and later joined the Leonardo da Vinci program in Amsterdam. At the same time, she worked as a research associate for the international architectural magazine Volume/Archis, which is edited by architect Rem Koolhaas. In 2010, she returned to Portugal, where she founded the company Frari, which develops architectural projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary experts.
