Biography
Mojmír Korvas was a Brno architect and athlete. As a representative of Czechoslovakia in handball and basketball, he was sentenced to five years around 1950, along with other members of the national team, for anti-communist sentiment (he went through several camps, including uranium mines). He designed, for example, the lookout tower at Babí lom and developed a proposal for the unrealized covered stadium of the Královopolská engineering company, which was published in a French architectural magazine. He also participated in the execution documentation of the steel structure of the Czechoslovak pavilion in Montreal, as well as the project for the sports hall in Královo Pole and the SKI hotel in Nové Město na Moravě.
