Biography
Rolf Jochen Rave is a German architect, urban planner, and retired university educator. He is the son of art historian and expert on Schinkel's work Paul Ortwin Rave (1893-1962).
1947-52 - attended Arndt Gymnasium in Berlin-Dahlem
1955 - passed the carpentry exam
1955-63 - studied architecture at HfBK in Berlin, while still a student, completed an internship with Egon Eiermann in Karlsruhe
1960 - received the Fritz Schumacher prize
1963 - began publishing the architectural guide "Berlin seit 1900" together with Hans-Joachim Knöfel
1972-76 - was a member of the board of the Berlin branch of Werkbund
1963-79 - had a joint office with his brother Jan Rave
1978 - served as a professor of design at FH in Münster
1980-89 - jointly led the architectural office Rave und Partner with J. Rave and D. Meisl
1990-2002 - jointly led the architectural office Rave Architekten BDA with J. Rave, R. Rave (retired in 2002)
2003 - published the architectural guide to Berlin "Bauen seit 1980"
