He studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh from 1996-97 and obtained his architect degree from the Helsinki University of Technology in 2003. From 1996 and 1998-2005, he worked for various architectural firms, and in 2004, he became a partner at the architectural firm ALA. Among the award-winning projects of the firm is the Kilde theater and concert hall in Kristiansand, Norway, completed in 2011. In 2013, he, along with colleagues, won the competition for the design of the Helsinki Central Library.
