Tatiana Bilbao

Tatiana Bilbao Spamer was born into an architectural family in Mexico City. Her grandfather was a minister of urban development in Spain and later fled to Mexico to escape Franco's regime. In 1996, she obtained a bachelor's degree in architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. Initially, she worked as a consultant for urban projects at the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing. Since 2004, she has led her own studio with projects around the world. In 2012, she received the Kunstpreis Berlin award, in 2009 she was honored with the Emerging Voice title from the Architecture League of NY, and in 2014 she received the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture.
