Biography
Vladimir Djurovic was born in Beirut to a Yugoslavian father and a Lebanese mother. In 1989, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture from Reading University in Berkshire, England. In 1992, he completed a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia in the USA and subsequently worked for three years at EDAW in Atlanta. In 1995, he returned to Lebanon, where he founded his own practice focused on creating timeless landscapes that seek to highlight the uniqueness of the environment through simplicity of gestures. Djurovic has lectured at the Architectural Association of Ireland and Imperial College in London. He has won several international competitions, such as Freedom Park South Africa (2003) and the Ismaili Center and Aga Khan Museum in Toronto (2006). His office has also received numerous awards, including the Cityscape Architectural Review Awards 2005 and the American Society of Landscape Architects Award in 2007.
