Between 1927 and 1935, he studied at the Czech Technical University in Prague. After graduating, he worked for film studios until 1937. From 1937, he collaborated with architect F. Cubr in his studio. This studio transitioned to Stavoprojekt in 1949. The studio focused on interior design and exhibition design. They also designed villas, commercial, and industrial buildings. Among their projects were the interiors of the Czechoslovak pavilion in Milan (1942) and the trade fair exhibition in Leipzig (1940), the Czechoslovak pavilion at the World Expo '58 in Brussels, and the interiors of the Czechoslovak pavilion at the World Expo '67 in Montreal.
