BiographyAlois Metelák was an architect, sculptor, renowned glass artist, and high school teacher. A graduate of the School of Applied Arts in Prague under Professor E. Dítě, A. Hofbauer, F. Kysela, and decorative architecture under
J. Plečnik. The first director of the glass school in Železný Brod (1924-48). Professor at the State Jewelry School in Turnov (1948-52). He dedicated over half a century of artistic and organizational work tirelessly to the development of Czech glassmaking. His life's work includes designs for monuments, family houses, jewelry, and glass. He participated in many foreign exhibitions.
