Two blocks of social housing for seniors are located in the original industrial zone in the center of Tilburg along Wilhem Park, in a place that has been transformed into a new cultural center. Both social housing blocks neighbor the new De Pond museum and are connected to it in such a way that they create an internal garden, to which the residential portion is oriented, while the other overlooks the museum garden. The building is characterized by a glass-concrete wall perforated with large openings, creating a transparent boundary between the circulation and the access to private apartments. The three-meter wide corridor thus becomes an intermediate space, a meditation spot, a meeting place, a place for rest and relaxation. Natural light is filtered through the glass-concrete brick wall into the interior, and conversely, at night the wall radiates light into the garden.
