The area of the Police of the Czech Republic constitutes a defined territory of civic amenities in the city. The plots are lined with new retaining walls along the street in a curve. The location of the area is close to the city center, which is situated lower, beyond the Balinka River. The street Třebíčská rises from the center towards the addressed area. The addressed territory is the former area of the technical services of the town of Velké Meziříčí. The existing buildings have been removed. Part of the demolition material is spread over the land. The sloping land allowed for the utilization of height differences in the design of the building layout. Each of the three levels has a different functional purpose.

The intention of the urban and architectural solution was to create a quality environment in the former locality, where the operation and appearance had the character of a periphery and makeshift.

The proposed administrative and operational building of the police is a compact cuboid, optimal in terms of spatial conditions and energy efficiency parameters.

The material solution is characterized by the use of a suspended, ventilated lightweight outer shell in two floors. A shade of cashmere metallic finish was chosen, which gives a warm color tone and creates a velvety effect. The composition of the building is complemented by metal cantilevered bay windows, which serve protective, functional, and shading purposes. The overall design includes monolithic retaining walls with fencing made of steel gratings. This is a consistent element used on the bay windows of the building. Large outdoor canopies were chosen as a protection for police equipment and people against the harsher climate of the Czech-Moravian Highlands. Despite all the unconventional attributes, the intention was to firmly anchor the building with a public function into the broader area of the city center of Velké Meziříčí.

The interior layout and external operations are derived from the placement of the building on the slope. All parts of the building and the area are easily accessible for police officers. The staircase in the middle of the layout aids this. Clarity and openness in space were the intention of the design, together with natural daylight in the central three-story central hall. The visual connection of the main spaces of the building is combined with rooms for concentrated work. The structural system of the monolithic reinforced concrete skeleton creates a premise for future variability and flexibility. Cast floors and coatings in a pastel gray-blue color were chosen. This is the only unifying element in color, evoking the profession of police officers.

The entrance for the public is on the middle floor. The entrance is connected to outdoor areas, which have been equipped with the aim of creating a friendly environment for visitors. Therefore, a low banner set in greenery is located at the entrance and is complemented by elements of urban furniture.

The new building of the public authority exceeds the legal requirements for energy consumption. A significant portion of energy is drawn from renewable sources.
