Motto: The Universe is Infinite
The latest study by American astronomers has confirmed that intergalactic space is a vast reservoir of matter. In the space between galaxies, scientists have discovered a significant portion of the matter that has been hidden from our eyes until now. They found that it is distributed along filaments that form the basic framework of our universe. "We believe we see fibers of a net-like structure that forms the fundamental skeleton of the universe," says Mike Shull from the University of Colorado.

In our proposal, we were inspired by the current understanding of the structure of matter in the universe (without considering temporal development), translated into a model. We created empty spaces in the given environment (the room) designated for visitors, and between them, a connected space emerged behind the glass - an image of cosmic structure - in which, just like matter, galaxies, and stars, the exhibits are placed. The visitor thus becomes a kind of wanderer in the universe, passing through the empty space and observing the exhibits-stars. It is important to note that the space is not created by the glass but by the exhibits themselves placed around the voids. The number of free rooms - spaces corresponds to individual thematic areas. The visitor, or group, is thus always surrounded by all the exhibits related to that particular topic at once. They experience it intensely. They do not need to walk alongside them to realize the connections; just glancing is sufficient. Within the void, interactive objects are installed, allowing the visitor to verify the function of the exhibited instruments and thematic projections on bent glass. The author’s films, through their artistic presentation, complement the factually given topic.
In the entrance area, an opaque void - a filter - representing the Earth's atmosphere is located. In this space, in contrast to the subsequent exhibition, the history of observing the universe is graphically presented on a timeline and through film. The only solid object here is an 80kg meteorite placed in the center. Touching the universe. The visitor thus travels from the neutral environment of the NTM staircase hall through the history of astronomy to ultimately find themselves among the shining stars of the exhibition - historical astronomical instruments.
