Childhood friends.
We propose a family house in the village of Svinná, not far from Trenčín. The limits of the plot include the proximity of the railway track, distances from neighboring houses, and the building height limit. As a result of the neighbor's request not to shade his plot from the southern side, we designed a house that has a single-story character but with the added value of a duplex. The house conceals the concept of a clear, open layout with elevated common rooms that communicate with each other through an open atrium. In close proximity to neighbors and the railway, it has its own privacy, intimacy, and is nevertheless filled with light.
The house, partially constructed by contractors and partially by the owners themselves, becomes a home thanks to the attentive approach of the owner and ongoing communication with the architect up to this day. Two years of work on the interior bears fruit in the form of living with atmosphere and feeling. The house, inspired by the square, brings games of light not only in the dining room, through the atrium and terrace, but primarily in the boys' duplex or in the elevated living room. Here, the western sun creates an atmosphere of a unique play of colors and light, thus confirming the fundamental idea of the design - the play of children.
