The plot with an area of almost five thousand square meters, intended for the construction of a family house, is located in Dobřejovice, in close proximity to the Průhonice Park. The entire plot has an extraordinary atmosphere with mature trees and a topographical break, within which an older stone structure is embedded. Our starting point is to support this break and preserve part of the original building, which we want to incorporate into the new substance. In this way, we aim to maintain the unique atmosphere of this romantic place and avoid constructing a solitary object that would weaken these aspects. In short, the concept can be described as respect for the natural values of the site in question. The house, placed into the topographical break, aims to affirm its purpose not only from an urban planning perspective but also in architectural expression. We want to make an effort to inscribe the ground into the very soul of the building itself. We select soil in the places where we plan to build the walls. The earth thus serves as a mold into which concrete will be poured. After the concrete hardens, the soil that formed the lost formwork will be removed. The resulting object will represent an imprint of the earth. The texture of the location will become an irreplaceable motif in the internal surfaces, thereby confirming the belonging to this exceptional space. The internal walls must take into account the slope of the removed terrain, and this profiling will also be reflected on the external façade at the site of the topographical break. The original stone building, from which we will remove the roof, will also serve as lost formwork. The original object and the new concrete substance are covered by a common roof slab, on which we are considering a grassy surface. The most visible place will thus be the single façade that respects the edge of the topographical break. The dimensions of the walls and ceiling allow us to use thermally insulating concrete, which does not require additional thermal insulation. Similarly, the greater thickness of the concrete allows us to make extensive use of plain concrete without reinforcement.
