Freely inspired room
"Fifty Shades of Grey" by Petr Stolin and Alena Mičeková, the authors of the room, is a place where everyone can create their own story.
This room is meant to evoke the feeling that you have just stepped into a classic New York boudoir, where old and new, industrial and luxurious elements and objects with a personal story are combined. Great inspiration came from the photographs of Helmut Newton, Roy Stuart, Tereza from Davle... The interior of the room should be a scene that, due to its atmosphere, invites unexpected experiences.
Like from Almodóvar's films"What happens in a hotel room stays in a hotel room." Everything is completely left to your own imagination. Even how you interpret the title
"Fifty Shades of Grey." It can be interpreted in various ways, mixing several styles and influences. It contains not only a reference to color but also to the surreal atmosphere of Almodóvar's films, which the room is meant to evoke.
The design was approached in a collage style, and through a combination of materials and furniture, the architects tried to capture their final vision.
From the original ImperialGrey is elegant, subtle... sexy. However, this scheme was not strictly adhered to, and other accents also appear. Besides the magical grey, there are also resurrected brass fixtures and upholstered furniture from the original Imperial from the 70s installed here.
The queen of the room is a geometric bed with a headboard that functions as a screen. You can change behind it, enhancing the tension of anticipation. Another striking element is the cleverly placed large mirror surfaces, as the authors have used in many of their completed works.
