The clients approached us while still in Barcelona. They wanted to move to Prague and renovate an old apartment with a typical layout of 3kk, which is occupied by tens of thousands of other families in apartment buildings. Our response to their individual ideas about living and working from home was a subtle modification of the layout so that it never felt cramped, and the synergy of individual views allowed the apartment to be experienced in all its size. With steel details in industrial blue, we ironically refer to the idea of a living machine hidden behind the era's standardized construction output. The apartment is subtly interwoven with these elements, from hooks and a bookshelf to silent butlers in the bedroom, a toilet paper dispenser, and heating in the bathroom. The only room paradoxically untouched by "industry" is the home office, serving as a memento of the transformation of "the situation of us workers." The greatest urban value of construction of this type is the fulfillment of the original idea of living in greenery. Therefore, we emphasized the livability of both loggias and the views into the treetops. The light shades of the interior can be changed after dusk using online controlled light sources with a complete color spectrum capable of creating any atmosphere. The apartment is supplemented with practical details for everyday joy, such as a heated mirror in the bathroom that doesn't fog up, a fold-out vanity with a mirror, a hatch on the teak countertop in the bathroom hiding dirty laundry, a standing desk, and a "hole" for discarded papers in the study, a niche for a drying rack and ironing board, or a frost-free water tap on the loggia, etc.
